JOB SUMMARY
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist line and trouble departments during storms investigating hazardous exposures, lines down, and broken structures. Accurately report findings to DCC and Storm Leads to reduce truck rolls and expedite service restoration to customers.
• Troubleshoot, diagnosis and resolve internal and external meter issues and recognize service issues pertaining to proper meter functionality
• Troubleshoot, secure, document and report theft of electricity, often in uncertain areas and with unpredictable customers.
• Work involves exposure to hazardous conditions and potentially hazardous facilities and equipment.
• Responsible for use, care and security of tools, vehicles, equipment and utilized material.
• Use computer programs to troubleshoot, repair and read meters with interval data recordings and reactive measurements for monthly billing on residential, commercial and major accounts. Stay current on pertinent technologies through continuous education and self-study.
• Adhere to all applicable standard operating procedures to ensure an Incident and Injury Free Workplace.
• Understand Probewell testing equipment and it's applications to test meter efficiency for Corporation Commission required testing. Test self-contained meters (SC) meters < 300 volts. Also perform Customers High Bill Tests and report findings.
• Disconnect and reconnect/Seal-in and seal-out three-phase and single-phase (SC) meters <300 volts for unpaid bills, unpaid deposits, unpaid final bills and out of cycle disconnects. Ability to Safely and calmly deal with customers face-to-face in these situation.
• Work Meter High Temp alert tickets and understand causes and hazards associated with pulling and checking over-heated meters.Troubleshoot, diagnosis and resolve internal and external meter issues and recognize service issues pertaining to proper meter functionality.
• Maintain and replace batteries, recognize internal and external meter issues and recognize service issues pertaining to proper meter functionality.
• Ensure the integrity of the company’s measurement devices and assist in Investigation of energy diversion including fraud and improper installation of solar equipment as required.
• Use Probewell device and perform Commission required testing on self-contained meters, threephase and single-phase. Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
• Check firmware, NIC card, and run multiple tests to ensure meter is communicating properly and customer is billed timely and accurately.
• Use Meter Mate and CATT software programs to troubleshoot smart meters. Update firmware, check NIC card communication, time sync errors, reverse energy and perform multiple computer tests to ensure meters are communicating properly and customers are being billed timely and accurately.
• All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma/GED
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Will be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
• May require travel.
• Required to work overtime, weekends, holidays and storms.
• Routine exposure to dogs and other animals and requires interaction with customers to resolve issues in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as unpredictable customers dealing with unpaid bills or theft of electricity.
• Must be able to walk moderate distances over varying terrain and climb fences and ladders.
• WIll require interaction with customers to resolve issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Required to work non-standard work schedules to include on call and call-outs.
• Required to lift fifty (50) pounds or more.
SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
• Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.
• The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
• Ability to learn metering functions, maintenance and manual tasks.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers.
• Strong working knowledge of personal computers and Windows based software.
• Strong driving and safety record.
• Ability to operate power tools and manual hand-held tools.
• Working knowledge of applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
• Physical ability to remove and install meters and all other physical daily work including walking moderate distances over varying terrain and climb fences and ladders.
• Working knowledge of AMI metering, software and equipment used to troubleshoot meter issues.
• learn and operate new Probewell Watthour testing equipment to accurately capture test results on high bill tests and required testing for the Coorporation Commission.
• Working knowledge of required software, Field Service Unit (FSU) and optocoupler to troubleshoot, update firmware, check communication and obtain reader files from all.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic calculation.
• General knowledge of electrical distribution system.
• Basic knowledge of meter functions.

$59,530 - $74,422
