We are hiring for either a Senior Planner or Staff Planner based on candidates' qualifications. 

 

Responsible to plan and schedule activities, resources available, standards, priority and job scope to include the number of hours, number of people, tools, equipment and/or all other resources necessary to complete the work. Gathers and analyzes information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Ensures that assignment and scheduling of work follows company policy. Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for creation and maintenance of maintenance process Master Data in SAP.

• Serves as SAP maintenance process subject matter expert (SME).

• Works with the plant team to perform weekly (advance) scheduling duties.

• Works closely with the UIP to gather and organize plant needs in SAP and communicate needs to the appropriate process organizations to drive the development of future enhancements.

• Works with the Maintenance engineer or other appropriate staff to maintain measurement points for equipment condition.

• Works with the Maintenance Engineer to develop and administer the Preventive Maintenance Plans.

• Identifies reoccurring problems, and aids in root cause analysis.

• Procures materials through SAP.

• Works with Power Supply Services' Inspectors and Engineers on projects for outages.

• Works with contractors and service companies in planning work prior to outages and executing work during outages.

• Works with Plant and Power Supply Engineers to develop work packages and planning for construction betterment and larger repetitive jobs.

• Utilizes predictive maintenance.

• Ensures proper functional location numbers assigned.

• Creates PM Orders from PM Notifications.

• Develops job packages for short unexpected outages.

• Plans scheduled outages using appropriate tools.

• Conducts meetings (as needed) to keep appropriate members/managers informed and up-to-date on various items including budget and resource estimates, any variances on the budget, documentation as required to assist in compliance with standard and communicates scheduled changes and rollouts.

• Generates various reports such as costs, schedules, utilization of resources, backlogs, etc.

• Previews PM Notifications and analyzes for completeness and clarity.

• Receives direction from UIP to develop and implement functionality within SAP.

• Establishes time and cost estimates.

• Performs the activities associated with devising and maintaining a workable project plan to accomplish business needs, including leading and planning the project, create a resource plan, coordinating obtaining resources with Supply Chain, and establish lead time needs for obtaining materials.

• Improves planning for area to minimize delays and potential safety or operational problems by identifying and creating resources including man power, tools, and/or equipment.

• Establishes work authorizations or other record keeping systems to initiate, track, and record work progress.

• Provide coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.

• Act as project manager over multiple power plant maintenance projects, as assigned.

• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Senior Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years directly related work experience (e.g., power plant or process plant) to include 2 years of Journey level technical/mechanical experience (e.g., Instrument and Control Technician, Plant Mechanic, Auxiliary or Control Operator, Plant Electrician) or

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of Power Generation Planning work experience (e.g., Power Plant Crew, System, Outage).

Staff Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years work experience in a power plant, manufacturing, or process plant with technical, mechanical, or operational role (e.g., Instrument and Control Technician, Plant Mechanic, Auxiliary or Control Operator, or Plant Electrician) or

• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years work experience in Material Handling and/or mechanical/technical experience to include 2 years in a mechanical/technical role within a commercial or industrial setting combined with demonstrated experience in procure to pay process.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Requires travel within the company service territory to overnight stays.

• May require out of service territory training.

• Office environment and occasional trips into shop or plant.

• May be required to work non-standard work schedules.
