JOB SUMMARY
** This job is being posted across two skill levels (Journey & Apprentice). Qualified applicants will be considered for the higher of the two levels in which they qualify. **
Performs a variety of duties related to the installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of transmission and associated distribution systems, to provide continuous and dependable electric service to customers.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Performs varied tasks and projects directly related to craft trade. Gathers and analyzes relevant information to develop and implement the best course of action to ensure job is successfully completed in a safe manner. Often works under minimal or no supervision. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher level. Resolves problems through mastery of craft, trade knowledge and principles. Follows established Operating Procedures, Operating Practices and Approved Work Methods to accomplish requirements of job. Possesses career level knowledge to successfully perform job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• May operate a variety of electronic and other test equipment with a high degree of efficiency, as needed.
• Climb poles, set poles and string wire, utilizes and operates equipment (e.g., aerial bucket trucks, and other construction equipment), materials, and manpower in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Maintains and operates assigned vehicle used in performance of duties.
• Projects a positive company image by maintaining a good appearance and working relationship with internal and external customers.
• Constructs and maintains transmission systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Attends and participates in safety meetings, schools and training sessions regarding safe and proper performance of duties.
• Utilizes equipment, materials and manpower in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
• Constructs and maintains overhead electric transmission systems in accordance with approved construction standards and approved work methods.
REQUIREMENTS
JOURNEY
• High School Diploma/GED And 5 years progressive Lineman experience and completion of OGE Apprentice Program, Or
• 1 year of equivalent Journey Lineman experience (i.e. Electric Utility certified Journeyman Lineman).
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with DOT certification with no DOT restrictions other than O restriction (Required)
APPRENTICE
• Associate's Degree or certificate of completion in a Technical discipline (i.e. High Voltage/Power Line Technology/etc.); Or
• High School Diploma/GED And prior military experience at the journey level in a craft technical/mechanical for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214; Or
• High School Diploma/GED And 2 years utility lineman experience.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with DOT certification with no DOT restrictions other than O restriction (Required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• We are hiring for two different territories (North of I40 & West of I35) & (North of I40 & East of I35). The selected candidates will need to reside within their assigned territory.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• May be required to work under hazardous conditions.
• Required to operate motor vehicle safely in all traffic, weather and light conditions.
• Successfully complete Lineman and Switching Schools under the Apprentice Program.
• Maintains or obtain all required certifications (e.g., Class A Switching, Tower climbing, Hook Ladders).
• Exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
• Required to work non- standard work schedules to include on-call, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-outs.
• Required to work with voltages up to 500 kV.
• Required to work at heights up to and exceeding three hundred fifty (350)feet.
• Possible exposure to hazardous noise due to use of heavy equipment.
• Required to work away from home for extended periods, as needed.
• Requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
• This is a DOT Regulated Position - Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.
• The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;
• The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;

• Strong knowledge and understanding of utility lighting systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
• Computer skills with knowledge of MS-Office Suite (e.g., Outlook).
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to use common purpose hand tools and other materials of various craft trades.
• Demonstrated ability to adjust and adapt across varied working conditions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety requirements and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Mechanical skills and familiarity working with mechanical equipment (e.g., aerial bucket trucks, construction equipment).

Journey: $83,595 - $111,467
Apprentice: $52,208 - $88,296
