JOB SUMMARY

Administers all bi-weekly payrolls for OGE Energy Corp and its subsidiaries and maintains SAP Payroll System configurations to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • General responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate and administer payroll processes and reconciliation of bi-weekly payrolls for each of the company’s payroll groups, ensuring all benefits, taxes and other deductions are made in accordance with regulations and/or employee requests.
  • Ensure deductions and adjustments for loans, garnishments, payroll advances, workers compensation, overpayments, underpayments, etc. are made in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure reimbursements are made in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Transfer payroll information to Financial Accounting and Accounts Payable on a pay period basis.
  • Prepare required reports and review requests for checks to third party vendors.
  • Resolve timekeeping issues detected in the payroll process and advise timekeepers accordingly.
  • Analyze and resolve problems occurring during the payroll process.
  • Coordinate activities and reconcile payroll information with Compensation, Benefits, and Accounting staff as needed to ensure balancing of all systems and accounts.
  • Support the annual W-2 process.
  • Ensure proper documentation and accounting of all payroll period related items.
  • Prepare special and unique reports and analyses for various departments, as needed.
  • Prepare reconciliations of payroll accounts and resolve any reconciling items identified.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree , And 2 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or processing in-house payroll; Or
  • Associate's Degree , And 4 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or processing in-house payroll; Or
  • High School Diploma/GED And 6 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or processing in-house payroll.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with complex timekeeping rules and overtime policies and/or group timekeeping.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment.
  • May work non-standard hours.
  • Performs computer functions for extended durations.

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of all aspects of state and federal payroll regulations (i.e. wage and hour laws) and other required deductions.
