JOB SUMMARY

The SAP S/4HANA Platform Manager is accountable for all aspects of our SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud environment, ensuring it meets evolving business needs and delivers measurable value across the enterprise. This leader is responsible for the overall quality of solution delivery, the integration of internal resources with external service providers, and the execution of the SAP roadmap to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

 

This role oversees a multi-sourced delivery model, ensuring the right mix of internal talent, external partners, and managed service providers are aligned to meet business priorities. They will champion the continuous improvement of ERP-related processes and performance, with direct accountability for financial management of the platform, budget optimization, and cost transparency. The role also ensures proactive performance monitoring across the SAP landscape and drives the optimization of third-party tools such as Redwood (RMJ) to maximize automation and system efficiency.

 

The SAP S/4HANA Platform Manager works closely with enterprise architecture, IT governance, and business leaders to ensure solutions align with standards, best practices, and compliance requirements. Administrative responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, vendor management, organizational alignment, performance management, mentoring, and training.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

Accountable for ERP platform performance, delivery, transformation outcomes, and total cost of ownership. Adapts departmental strategies and priorities to address business and operational challenges. Decisions are guided by business strategy, policies, and best practices. Manages a recognized specialty area with its own budget and measurable enterprise impact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directly manage the internal SAP team and project management resources delivering both hands-on solution work and coordination of external partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with SAP, system integrators, hyperscaler partners, and managed service providers to ensure resource availability, quality, and innovation.
  • Define and enforce platform service levels, ensuring performance, security, and compliance meet business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and cost optimization for the SAP platform, ensuring transparency and alignment with business value delivery.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive performance monitoring for SAP and integrated systems to ensure availability, response times, and user experience meet targets.
  • Drive optimization of third-party tools such as Redwood (RMJ), ensuring job scheduling, automation, and integration are delivering peak efficiency and reliability.
  • Create and communicate the strategic vision, roadmap, and expected outcomes for the SAP S/4HANA platform and related technologies (Fiori, BTP, Analytics, integration middleware).
  • Own the health, stability, and performance of the SAP landscape, including upgrade cycles, release management, and adoption of SAP best practices.
  • Lead ERP modernization initiatives, including process transformation, cloud optimization, and integration with other enterprise systems (CRM, HRIS, data platforms).
  • Shape demand for ERP services, ensuring alignment with business strategy, platform governance policies, and budget priorities.
  • Identify new opportunities to extract business value from SAP investments, leveraging process mining, analytics, and automation tools.
  • Define guiding principles, success criteria, and governance processes for ERP-related projects; remove barriers to completion and approve project closures.
  • Ensure functional, technical, and process knowledge is up-to-date and future skill needs are identified and addressed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and team accountability.
  • Use data-driven decision making to optimize platform performance, reduce costs, and enhance user adoption.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand requirements, co-create solutions, and translate them into actionable platform features and enhancements.
  • Monitor ERP market trends, SAP product updates, and industry innovations to maintain a forward-looking platform strategy.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other closely related discipline, and 8 Years of experience in managing or leading projects, project management, IT solution design and delivery capacities, or performing similar work, including experience in ServiceNow platform development, implementation, and management; Or

• High School Diploma/GED and 10 Years of experience in managing or leading projects, project management, IT solution design and delivery capacities, or performing similar work, including experience in ServiceNow platform development, implementation, and management; and

• 2 years of experience leading teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• No mandatory certifications, though SAP S/4HANA, SAP Activate, ITIL, or financial management certifications are highly desirable.

• May require travel with some overnight stays.

  • Excellent negotiation skills to align priorities, secure resources, and influence key decisions.
  • Proven leadership of large-scale SAP S/4HANA or ECC-to-S/4 transformations, preferably in a private cloud or RISE with SAP model.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships, SLAs, and multi-year ERP roadmaps.
  • Strong financial management skills, with proven ability to manage budgets, optimize licensing costs, and track ROI for platform investments.
  • Hands-on experience with performance monitoring tools, system health dashboards, and tuning SAP environments.
  • Knowledge of third-party ERP optimization tools such as Redwood (RMJ), with the ability to design and implement automation strategies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to lead through ambiguity and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of SAP architecture, modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.), integration, and customization capabilities.
  • Experience with agile, DevOps, or hybrid delivery models in ERP environments.
  • Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance in regulated industries.

SALARY RANGE

$121,534 - $162,053
