JOB SUMMARY
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assists in the safe and efficient operation of assigned vehicles and equipment in accordance with all governmental laws and regulations.
• Drives and operates cranes in the absence of Special Equipment Operator (under limited operating condition).
• All other duties as assigned.
• Works inside energized substations, Operating Power Plants, and Other Construction Sites.
• Loads, unloads and operates heavy duty tractor trailer combinations in the transportation of oversize loads including over length poles, over height, width and weight construction, and electrical equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years experience driving tractor trailers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
• May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
• May require travel.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
• This is a DOT Regulated Position - Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.
• The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materials;
• The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
• Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;
• The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
• Ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations.
• Strong knowledge of medium to heavy duty trucks and tractor/trailers.
• Familiar with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Ability to load and secure material within vehicles.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Required Certifications/Licensures:(Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with DOT certification required (21 years old or older))
