JOB SUMMARY

Provides varied and complex management and/or financial analysis, reports and recommendations in support of business/departmental programs. Performs various evaluations, controls, and calculations to produce, support, and maintain data system integrity. Integrates and compiles data into quantifiable summaries, models, and forecasts for development, review, and approval of issue action plans. Develops recommendations for actions based on analysis. Areas of responsibility may include preparing, collecting and interpreting financial information; preparing budgets, reports, forecasts and statutory returns; conducting analyses of proposals, investments and fund sources; managing the organization's financial data; managing cost accounting and data systems and cash flow; conducting audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • General responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Thoroughly research and identify areas for analysis.
  • Produce summary analysis and present to department or executive leadership.
  • Serve as a source of expertise on reporting systems and data sources.
  • Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership.
  • Collaborate with department management and recommends specific actions in response to analysis.
  • Perform primarily financial and statistical analyses on assigned projects in order to identify trends, variances, and data gaps.
  • Perform research on company’s products and competitors and industry.
  • Audit program/process and department data and reports.
  • Develop the documentation or analysis of financial analysis projects.
  • Produce and maintain data specific to projects/program/process and or department.
  • Produce procedures to document data sources, analysis methods, and protocols.
  • Create financial models of "what if" scenarios to help future business planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with department management and recommend specific actions in response to analysis.
  • Follow-up on recommended action plans.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or other Business discipline, and 2 years directly related experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in an office environment using a computer and computer equipment including a keyboard, mouse and computer monitor.
  • May spend extended periods of time sitting and using a computer monitor.
  • May be required to work non-standard hours.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Skilled in database and reporting software (SAP, S/4, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc).
  • Ability to perform computer modeling on various systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of financial and/or statistical analysis techniques.
  • Ability to identify moderate to complex issues and apply creative solutions and make recommendations to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to solve a range of straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
  • Ability to synthesize, analyze, and summarize data using fundamental business theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Ability to interface with and effectively communicate with all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to interface with diverse personalities and receive instruction, guidance and direction from others.
