JOB SUMMARY
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Flag for review and udpate bills of materials and task lists on an as needed basis.
• Continually develops knowledge and understanding of plant principles and processes.
• Utilizes SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed.
• Assists in member development.
• Continually seeks process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency.
• Operates various machine shop equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Reads and interprets drawings and prints.
• Complies with all safety and regulatory requirements, both internal and external.
• Works with other craft and plant personnel as required.
• Operates various industrial equipment (i.e. forklift).
• Performs necessary pipefitting related maintenance.
• Performs general craft tasks and uses power and hand tools.
• May perform necessary welding-related maintenance.
• Performs equipment alignment.
• Repairs, inspects and maintains boiler and boiler auxiliaries, turbine/generator and turbine/generator auxiliaries, and/or maintains coal handling equipment and auxiliaries, as applicable.
REQUIREMENTS
• Associate's Degree in a mechanical discipline, And 5 years experience in a mechanical field; Or
• High School Diploma/GED And 7 years experience in a mechanical field; Or
• Prior military experience for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214, And 6 years experience in a mechanical field.
• A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a mechanical field is equivalent to 1 year of mechanical experience.
• Experience must include 3 years experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment including oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficient in machining parts to specifications using manual lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.
• Experienced in setting up, adjusting, and operating basic and specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
• Skilled in monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Capable of cleaning and lubricating machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
• Proven experience calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• May be required to cross-train in various crafts and operation department at various times of the year.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
• Required to work in a multi-craft crew including Mechanics, Electricians, Insulators, Instrument & Controls Technicians, etc. who work together to support operations of the plant.
• May require travel.
• May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
• May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
• May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
• Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.

• The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
• Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and the use of personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and familiarity working with mechanical equipment (e.g. pumps, electric motors, air compressors, valves, welding, fabrication, construction, pipe fitting, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to use common purpose hand tools and other materials of various craft trades.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, following approved work methods and standards testing practices.
• Demonstrated ability to proficiently use SAP/PM including notifications and work order management to include the ability to enter accurate work notes, review work history, material look up, and confirmation of work operation completion.
• Demonstrated ability to adjust and adapt across varied working conditions and evolving business needs.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally with team members, leaders, and customers.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnosis problems, and resolve effectively.
