JOB SUMMARY

We are hiring for either an Engineering Technician Associate PS or Engineering Technician Staff based on candidates' qualifications. 

Performs a wide range of analytical tasks related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical power generation facilities. Maintain plant engineering documentation, as assigned. Serves as a member of the plant root cause analysis team. Interfaces with all plant departments, vendors, Power Supply Services and will support testing duties and other problem analysis. Performs document content research, as well as, document management of reference material.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Entry level professional. Performs assignments with standardized processes. Works under direct supervision. Resolves questions and problems within established standards and guidelines. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform database maintenance, produce basic spreadsheets, and operate special application programs required in the testing and predictive maintenance programs.

• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding information needed for project design work and operational/maintenance execution.

• May participate in other testing as needed.

• Prepare final reports and graphics for plant testing procedures, plant metrics, regulatory and audit requirements, and other reports determined by supervision.

• Perform a wide range if analytical tasks related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of electrical power generation facilities.

• Maintain plant documentation library in hard copy and electronic formats.

• Apply and provide information on the use and application of Engineering Guides, Construction Standards, National Electric Safety Code, NBIC and ASME in standard construction projects.

• May be required to develop and instruct plant specific document control training programs, as needed.

• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Engineering Technician Associate PS Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Math, Physics or other related technical degree; Or

• High School Diploma/GED and completion of 60 hours equivalent college work toward a technical degree; Or

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years Engineering Technician Associate level work. 

Engineering Technician Staff PS Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in related technical field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Electronics, Drafting, etc. and 3 years Engineering Technician experience; Or

• Associate's Degree in related technical field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Electronics, Drafting, etc. and 5 years related power plant experience in technical role (e.g., Control room) including some experience or exposure with Engineering design or metrics monitoring.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• May be required to work non-standard hours, holidays, and schedules to include on-call and call-outs.

• May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.

• May require travel.

• May be required to work overtime and weekends.

• May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground, and in confined spaces.

• Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.

• Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;

• The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;

• Ability to act as IIF (Incident and Injury Free) partner.

• Knowledge and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

$52,187 - $85,717
