JOB SUMMARY
This position will service the northwest side of the Enid Service Center's territory.
Provides localized service to the assigned area. Installs and maintains service and metering equipment and operates and maintains distribution facilities and street lighting systems within certain one-person safety and physical limitations. Investigates service problems and takes necessary actions to facilitate service restoration under normal conditions or unusual occurrences and outages.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Performs varied tasks and projects directly related to craft trade. Gathers and analyzes relevant information to develop and implement the best course of action to ensure job is successfully completed in a safe manner. Often works under minimal or no supervision. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher level. Resolves problems through mastery of craft, trade knowledge and principles. Follows established Operating Procedures, Operating Practices and Approved Work Methods to accomplish requirements of job. Possesses career level knowledge to successfully perform job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Promote a safety culture by performing duties consistent with IIF (Incident and Injury Free).
• Investigates various types of inquiries concerning customers' service installations and performs basic engineering design modifications as needed, to provide new service.
• Conducts investigations of electric service diversions.
• Investigates and documents property damage to company facilities.
• Inspects, maintains, and tests tools, ladders, hotsticks, and all other individually assigned equipment.
• Maintains and operates assigned vehicle used in performance of duties.
• Projects a positive company image by maintaining a good appearance and working relationship with internal and external customers.
• Performs minor repairs on primary and secondary systems including reconnecting jumpers, replacing bad connections, tying off broken poles and removing foreign objects from distribution systems.
• Work with co-workers and district personnel to perform more complex assignments, as required.
• Performs troubleshooting and service restoration in emergency situations.
• Installs, repairs and/or removes services, self-contained meters, and security/street lights.
• Performs transmission or distribution switching, as directed.
• Performs minor tree trimming as necessary to provide clearance.
• All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of OGE Journeyman Lineman experience or 1 year of equivalent Journeyman Lineman experience (i.e., Electric Utility certified Journeyman Lineman), And
• Experience in metering, service and line work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Required to operate motor vehicle safely in all traffic, weather and light conditions.
• May be required to work under hazardous conditions.
• Exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
• Maintains or obtain all required certifications (e.g., Class A Switching,etc.).
• Required to work all voltages within OGE Distribution Systems.
• Required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-outs.
• Required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet.
• Required to work away from home for extended periods, as needed.
• Required to work independently without direct supervision.
• Required to travel to company locations within the OG&E distribution system.
• Requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
• This is a DOT Regulated Position - Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.
• The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materials;
• The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
• Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;
• Performing firefighting duties – Fire fighter duties does not include responding to incipient stage/coal fires;
• The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component;
• The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of metering and service.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical principles.
• Demonstrated ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge and ability to learn and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of utility lighting systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, safely, and effectively without direct supervision.
• Mechanical skills and familiarity working with mechanical equipment (e.g., aerial bucket trucks, construction equipment).
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
• Computer skills with knowledge of MS-Office Suite (e.g., Outlook), CADS, ArcFM.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to use common purpose hand tools and other materials of various craft trades.
• Demonstrated ability to adjust and adapt across varied working conditions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety requirements and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
